PETALING JAYA: Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee has been taking baby steps to rebuild his career with Selangor since returning from an ankle injury a month ago.
He started in the team’s 2-1 win against Penang and came on as a substitute in Selangor’s 0-4 defeat against Johor Darul Ta’zim last weekend.He has been selected as one of the 27 trainees in preparation for the international friendlies against Turkmenistan on Thursday and Hong Kong next Tuesday at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri.“I didn’t expect it ... coach still has faith in me. I will give my best with the national team and Selangor,” said Khuzaimi.
The centreback hopes to come back strong when the league resumes in April after the international break. “We made mistakes and were punished by JDT. I hope we can correct them and follow the tactics set by coach Tan ,” he said. “I hope to bounce back and show I have what it takes to be one of the best centrebacks in the league.”
