KevinSmith speaks out about being in a 'weird, dark' and 'scary' place before seeking mental health treatment
Kevin Smith is opening up about seeking help following a “scary” incident where he was convinced he was losing his mind in a candid new interview.
He recalls being sexually abused as a child — he was just 6 years old when an older boy he didn’t know made him perform sexual acts with a young girl — as well as being shamed for his weight by a fourth grade teacher when he was 9 years old. Smith admits of being in group therapy sessions alongside military veterans struggling with PTSD: “In the beginning, it was tough to share when somebody’s talking about watching their friend get killed and I’m like, ‘Well, my fourth-grade teacher told me I was fat.’
