Sky News US Contributor Michael Ware says the fate of Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is intimately tied to ongoing negotiations over the debt ceiling.
“What’s different is, well, certainly the Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, his future, his position, hangs on these negotiations,” Mr Ware told Sky News Australia.“I mean, it’s a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“There’s only three countries on the planet that use it – one is Denmark, and one is Kenya, and Kenya is thinking it’s ceasing the use of a debt ceiling.”
