This short film re-enacted the true story of one of the college students who almost became a victim of fraud, said the College Head of Research and Innovation, Dr Sirhajwan Idek.

They are Nursofi Aisyahtul Fatihah, Naveah Abila, Ave Vanessa, Brandon Zachary David, Chris Elvyenie Grice Michael and Vitavenicea Layuni. The short film, “Watch Your Step”, can be accessed through the following link: https://youtu.be/ZI4Sbfn7zAQ It tells the story of a student who was deceived by the invitation of an acquaintance regarding an online business that promised good returns.

Sirhajwan said when teachers noticed the distraught student’s behavioural change following the fraud, they advised her to put an end to her communication with the scammer – she eventually relented. He said the student’s experience is an example of fraud where the victim becomes an “account donkey” who can be convicted. “This group of students produced the film to raise the awareness on such schemes that are becoming more prevalent,” he said.
