: Lalu lintas perkapalan melalui Terusan Panama kini dikurangkan berikutan paras air yang rendah di laluan penting itu, lapor agensi berita Jerman memetik kenyataan pentadbiran terusan itu.
Sejak beberapa bulan kebelakangan ini, jumlah hujan yang rendah serta suhu yang lebih tinggi menyebabkan paras air di Gatún Lake, sebuah tasik buatan di Terusan Panama, menurun sehingga menjejaskan operasi. “Walaupun pelbagai langkah diambil, paras Gatun Lake terus merosot ke paras yang belum pernah berlaku seperti tahun ini,” kata pihak berkuasa terusan itu.
TTerusan sepanjang 80 km itu bermula di Colón di utara dan berakhir berhampiran Panama City di selatan.
