The Raptors ran off six 76ers turnovers and a good number of Sixers misses, as Toronto was 5-of-6 on fast-break opportunities in the first half.“I think it’s really important, because it’s a really big part of our identity and it was a big part of our identity for six straight playoff games. Five of those were five wins in a row but if we play defence like we did in Game 3, we don’t have any business turning anybody over. And we don’t have any business winning,” Nurse said before the game.
The Raptors still had their problems though. Siakam ended up playing through his bruised right calf but was clearly hindered. He seemed to be at three-quarters speed, and the Raptors didn’t go to him as a primary option. He was able to get some open looks in the corners from threes but, whether it was due to his injury or not, he couldn’t connect, missing on four open looks in the first quarter alone. He finished the first half without a field goal.
