ASIC chairman Joe Longo says there is a gap in how unacceptable behaviour by senior officials in statutory roles can be dealt with that is “a serious policy issue” for the government to solve.that his former deputy told previous ASIC chair James Shipton she could have “destroyed” his career.
Ms Chester said on Wednesday, through a lawyer, that she raised the allegations through proper channels, never leaked damaging information about Mr Shipton’s performance that “could have destroyed his career”, and wanted him to contact business leaders to “correct the record” about her professional performance.
