Award-winning documentarist Kara David is the new chair of the journalism department at the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication.
The veteran GMA News broadcast journalist is replacing Dr. Rachel Khan as chair, while Dr. Aurora Liwag-Lomibao will assume the post of Associate Dean, also held by Khan.David has been serving as an assistant professor in UP since 2017, teaching broadcast journalism, peryodismo sa Filipino, and other courses.as references when teaching her students.
"It sticks in their heads more than if I asked them to read classic literature. They retain more the metaphors, personification, if I use songs as examples," she said.
