Kapal tangki, bot tunda ditahan pindah minyak tanpa kebenaran

Maritim Malaysia mengesan sebuah kapal tangki MT Mekar Jaya dan sebuah bot tunda YKP Karishma merapat antara satu sama lain dalam keadaan mencurigakan ketika melaksanakan rondaan rutin Op Pertiwi, kira-kira pukul 2.10 petang semalam.

GEORGE TOWN: Sebuah kapal tangki serta bot tunda ditahan Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia Pulau Pinang semalam selepas didapati gagal memaklumkan Pengarah Jabatan Laut untuk melakukan aktiviti pemindahan minyak ‘Ship to Ship’ .

Katanya, kedua-dua bot itu dikesan pada kedudukan 0.29 kilometer timur perairan Persiaran Karpal Singh dekat sini. ”Bot tunda YKP Karishma berbendera Thailand pula dikendalikan enam kru termasuk nakhoda iaitu empat warga Indonesia dan dua warga Thailand,” katanya dalam kenyataan di sini hari ini. ”Mereka disyaki telah melakukan kesalahan di bawah Ordinan Perkapalan Saudagar 1952 iaitu gagal memaklumkan Pengarah Jabatan Laut untuk melakukan aktiviti pemindahan minyak Ship to Ship .
