Kamarulzaman Mat Salleh new KL mayor FMTNews
Kamarulzaman Mat Salleh’s appointment is in line with subsection 4 of the Federal Capital Act 1960. Chief Secretary Zuki Ali said in a statement that his appointment is in line with subsection 4 of the Federal Capital Act 1960.
“I believe with his experience, he can strengthen the administration and local authorities under the City Hall for the benefit of the public and the government,” said Zuki. Kamarulzaman, who is DBKL’s executive director , is replacing Mahadi Che Ngah whose term ended on March 31. Kamarulzaman began his career in DBKL in 1991 and has 32 years’ experience managing the city as well as being involved in Kuala Lumpur’s policy planning.Previously, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary Azman Abidin revealed that the government had shortlisted about 10 candidates including the four DBKL executive directors, former DBKL executive directors as well as candidates outside of DBKL for the mayor’s post.Subscribe to our newsletter and get news delivered to your mailbox.
