Don't blink (like we did), or you'll miss (like we did) Kaleigh Fratkin 's first career Professional Women's Hockey League ( PWHL ) goal. The Burnaby defender, 31, fired a slap shot from the point and through traffic to light the lamp for Boston in its Jan. 27 game against Minnesota . Fratkin's rocket past goaltender Maddie Rooney came 3:49 into the contest in front of more than 4,000 people at Tsongas Center at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.
The goal also started a three-goal first period for Boston. The green and white ultimately defeated Minnesota 4-3 in overtime. It was her first professional goal since the 2022-23 season with the Boston Pride of the former Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Last year, the Burnaby Central Secondary grad tallied three goals and nine assists for 12 points in 24 regular-season games. This time, it took six games for Fratkin to find the back of the net and to register her first point of her PWHL career. As of this publication, Feb. 12, she's also recorded six penalty minutes and maintains a plus one on-ice rating (+1
