'I'm sick of walking on eggshells all the time'
I'm having a bad day and could really do with getting a few things off my chest. It's been ages since I last posted here but I need to let my mask slip for a moment or two without having to deal with any consequences.I think I've got a tendency to pretend that isn't true, and to make excuses, but recently... I've been feeling more and more restricted and right now I feel like I can't breathe.
I don't waste money, and I'm used to making do with just the basics for myself. I'm not a"wanty" person. But I've found myself changing the things I DO buy for myself for cheaper alternatives... my make up and toiletries for example. Yet, when I do the supermarket shop, heaven forbid I don't get the brands he likes.
My latest bugbear is that we planned to go out for the day on Saturday with my parents, now that we're able. The children are very close to them and the last year has been very hard on all 4 of them . But I had an unexpected bill and had to ask my husband for extra money, so now we"can't afford to waste money" on a day out because I've taken his account lower than he wanted to go.
I know certain rules have to be followed to keep you safe... or legal... I'm not stupid. But most of his rules benefit no one but him. And the children already tiptoe around him.
