The former undisputed super-lightweight champion rematches domestic rival Catterall on May 25 in Manchester.
Josh Taylor says he is aiming to end his bitter feud with Jack Catterall by giving him a "beatdown" in their highly anticipated rematch next month.
The Scottish boxing star has been involved in a harsh war of words with Englishman Catterall ever since their first showdown and insists he is fully focused on putting their rivalry to bed with an emphatic performance in five weeks time. Speaking to iFL TV, Taylor, 33, said: "I can't wait. I am emotionally detached but I am just excited for the fight.
The Edinburgh boxer lost his WBO super-lightweight crown to Teofimo Lopez in his most recent bout back in June 2023, suffering a lopsided points division defeat to the American star. Having struggled to make the 140 pound weight in the lead up to that contest in Las Vegas, Taylor confirmed his ambition to move up to welterweight to fight unified champion Terence Crawford.
"The 140 pound division is heating back up again.", he added. "I love to be involved in these fights. Obviously I have got a big one to take care of in five weeks time and I am not looking past that as I made that mistake the last time.
