PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Josh Davies scored at 5:40 of double overtime, Jan Spunar made 48 saves and the Portland Winterhawks edged the Prince George Cougars 2-1 Monday to advance to the Western Hockey League final.
They'll face the winner of the Eastern Conference final between the Saskatoon Blades and Moose Jaw Warriors.Nate Danielson also scored for Portland.
Danielson opened the scoring at 19:00 of the second period.After a scoreless first overtime, Davies took a feed from Josh Mori on the rush in the second extra frame before firing a shot past Ravensbergen.
