ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor will not stay idle in addressing local white rice supply, which has been affected lately, even though the matter is under the jurisdiction of Putrajaya, says Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

The Johor Mentri Besar added that they were collecting information to come up with the best possible solution in addressing the matter to help the Federal Government.

He said although the supply of rice and basic needs was not under the state government control, it affected the well-being of the people in Johor."There is indeed concern and anxiety, especially at the grassroots level, so I have asked the agriculture exco and also the consumer exco to give suggestions in helping the Federal Government."We are not lax in this matter because in the end, it is the people of Johor who are affected," he added.

Onn Hafiz said this to the press after visiting the Maju Johor mini carnival held at Kota Iskandar here on Wednesday . The Machap assemblyman added that his administration remained committed to improving the people’s welfare in the state covering various aspects."The same approach is taken in the maintenance of federal roads in the state, as well as in the issue of congestion at the two Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complexes.to our Premium Plan for an ad-free and unlimited reading experience!
