JOHOR BARU: A 28-year-old man wanting to get a loan ended up losing more than RM50,000 after allegedly being duped by a bogus financial offer.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the victim, a businessman, claimed he had been cheated by a syndicate offering loans.

Supt Mohd Sohaimi added that the victim was given information about the process but was told to make several payments as his “credit score” did not qualify him for the loan. “The victim only realised he had been cheated when he was told to make more payments to help increase his 'credit score',” he added.
