Breaking: John Tory will be presiding over the 2023 budget on Wednesday, budget chief says
John Tory’s allies at city hall are trying to convince the mayor to reverse his decision to resign.
“The goal is honestly to get as many councillors as possible, whether they publicly or privately state their support for the mayor remaining,” he said, adding that he has yet to speak to the mayor but has requested a meeting with Tory to persuade him. “So that’s what I would like him to do, is just to put a hold on it for now and take some time off if needed, and spend time with his family, and hopefully he will reconsider.”
