In an interview aired on The Rich Eisen Show this week, Montana recounted a moment when he was approached by the Canadian actor on the sidelines.
It was during one of the many lengthy TV timeouts that he noticed Canadian actor John Candy on the sidelines, much to his surprise.
“My contract was up and he was one of the owners of the Toronto Argonauts. He was trying to get me to go to Canada. They just didn’t have enough money.”
