Jockey Dean Holland has been airlifted to hospital with “critical” injuries after a terrifying fall on Monday.
The incident occurred when the field turned for home during the opening race at Donald, which is in Victoria’s north-west.Fellow jockey Alana Kelly, who was riding Time To Rumble, also fell from her horse, but was able to walk away from the incident.Racing Victoria put an immediate delay on racing while Holland could be attended to before the meet was eventually abandoned.An air ambulance was called and he was transported to a hospital in Melbourne.
