Footage shared to social media shows passengers evacuate the plane via emergency slides after Jetstar received a call from a man who claimed to have planted a bomb on the aircraft.
The aircraft was travelling from Narita airport near Tokyo to the southwestern city of Fukuoka on Saturday, when it was forced divert to Chubu Airport, according to local broadcaster NHK.
Footage posted to social media shows passengers evacuating the aircraft via emergency slides as others make their way across the tarmac. The emergency landing prompted Chubu Airport to temporarily close the runway with all take-offs and landings suspended for about five hours.
