The budget airlines have issued strict warnings and urged travellers to make sure their hand luggage meets requirements.
Passengers flying with Jet2 and easyJet have been advised to ensure their suitcases adhere to a lesser-known rule concerning 'wheels and handles'.
According to EasyJet's standard baggage policy, all passengers are permitted to bring one small under seat bag on board free of charge. While there is no weight limit, the bag must fit under the seat in front of you and cannot exceed 45x36x20cm, similar to the Chelsea Overnight Bag from luxury suitcase brand Antler.
EasyJet has issued a reminder to its flyers, saying "please check the dimensions" prior to journeying to the airport. In addition, passengers who pay extra for an EasyJet larger cabin bag can bring a case up to 56x45x25cm, fitting for items like Antlers maximum discount Clifton Cabin Bag which currently has £42 off in the sale.
Even better, you can bag these 'hotel-quality' pillows for 21 per cent less, as Amazon has reduced a pack of two from £22.99 to just £18.10. This means that each pillow works out at just over £9 each, meaning they are good value for money. The pillows from the trusted UK sleep brand have a 4.3 rating, with many shoppers calling them "the best" they have ever bought for a decent night of rest.
"If you're told at the check-in or bag drop desk that your luggage is too big you'll need to pay a £48 fee. If our ground crew tell you at the gate that your luggage is too big, you'll have to pay the fee at the gate."
