KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 — A Japanese civil servant has been ordered to return 1.44 million yen and undertake 10 per cent salary cut for six months for smoking a total of 4,512 times in 14.5 years.
Besides him, two others were also disciplined with a 10 per cent pay cut for repeatedly smoking during working hours.reported.The prefectural government's human resources division said they had received a tip-off last September of the wrongdoing, and their supervisor had warned the three. Despite the warning, the trio continued to smoke and when confronted by the supervisor, they lied that they had not been smoking since receiving the warning.
