Japan Scholarships Open for Filipino Students

The Japanese Embassy in the Philippines is accepting applications for the 2025 Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarships for Japanese Studies and Teacher Training.

The embassy of Japan in the Philippines has opened its application for the Japan ese Studies and Teacher Training categories of the 2025 Japan ese Government (Monbukagakusho) scholarship. Through the Japan ese embassy in Manila, the Japan ese government announced the opening of the scholarship programs on Friday, December 27.

For Japanese Studies, applicants must be under 30 years old by April 2, 2025 and currently enrolled at the undergraduate level and majoring in fields related to Japanese language and/or Japanese culture. They must have majored in a field related to Japanese language or culture for a total period of at least one year as of September 1, 2025. For Teacher Training, applicants must be under 35 years old by April 2, 2025 and have at least five years of teaching experience in elementary or secondary educational institutions as of October 1, 2025. Application forms and other information may be viewed and downloaded from the Embassy website. The embassy reminded interested applicants that the deadline for submission of applications is on February 14, 2025 (Friday). Only physical documents mailed through courier or hand-delivered to the Embassy will be accepted, it added
