There is no question Japan’s relationship with the West has been “significantly strengthened” over the past four decades, according to Japan’s Ambassador to Australia Shingo Yamagami.
“Not only we are sharing the values – democracy, the rule of law, human rights, and market economy – but increasingly we do
share strategic interests and interestingly we are now exchanging our strategic assessments,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
