Tammy Tyrrell announced on Thursday that she was quitting the Jacqui Lambie Network, saying she longer had the confidence of the party.
Firebrand senator Jacqui Lambie wished Tammy Tyrrell well after she announced her decision to quit the Tasmanian's party and go it alone on the crossbench. In a statement released on Thursday evening, Tyrrell revealed she had resigned from the Jacqui Lambie Network and would remain in the upper house as an independent. Lambie on Friday issued a response.
We will both continue to represent the great state of Tasmania in the Senate. "This does not change our working relationship or friendship." In her own announcement, Tyrrell said she no longer had the confidence of the Jacqui Lambie Network. "While Jacqui has not kicked me out of the network, she has suggested that I go it alone," she said. Tyrrell was elected to the upper house in 2022.
