New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has apologised after a microphone picked up her using offensive language to describe a rival MP.

“I stand by the work that we have done as a government over this last year and over this past term,” she said. However, when she sat back down and the speaker resumed, Ms Ardern could be heard muttering “he’s such an arrogant prick” – presumably directed at Mr Seymour.
