If working remotely from a cafe on the cobblestoned streets of Rome or the Sardinian coast sounds like a better remote working situation than your current one, Italy ’s new digital nomad visa may be of interest.

Fully comprehensive healthcare also has to be purchased for the entire duration of the traveller’s stay. But some criminals won’t get a look in — any applicants who have been convicted of a crime in the past five years will be knocked back. The new regulations come as the Decree-Law No. 4/2022 was converted into law by the Italian Parliament on March 28 and rolled out the next month.
