The Andrews government has come under fire after data released on Tuesday showed Ambulance Victoria failed to respond to a third of Code 1 call outs within the 15 minute target.

Quarterly performance data released on Tuesday showed Ambulance Victoria again failed to meet the response benchmark set for Code 1 call outs.

The Coalition said the state's"plagued health system" had meant"one in three Victorians are still waiting too long for a paramedic in an emergency". "Yet six months later, response targets are still not being met and it's clear nothing has changed. And it's Victorians who suffer. Just 60.2 per cent of Code 1 cases were responded to within the 15 minute benchmark in the previous quarter.

"January to March saw ambulances called to 92,413 Code 1 cases across Victoria, 7.8 per cent fewer 'lights and sirens' cases compared to the previous quarter, which was the busiest in our history with more than 100,000 cases," Ambulance Victoria Metropolitan Regional Director Ian Hunt said. The Andrews government said in a statement the"health system continues to show signs of improvement across a range of key areas", before going on to cite how the Code 1 response times were better than the last quarter.

Newly unearthed ambulance report contradicts Andrews’ claim about 2013 car crashNewly unearthed ambulance report contradicts Andrews’ claim about 2013 car crashFormer Victorian Police commissioner Kel Glare says Daniel Andrews’ 2013 car crash that nearly killed a teenage cyclist needs a “total review from start to finish” following a newly unearthed ambulance Patient Care Report. A secret Patient Care Report developed by the paramedics who attended the crash scene was recently unearthed, revealing the teenage rider was struck by the Andrews’ Ford Territory. “There needs to be a forensic analysis of the damage to the car and to see whether what’s said by both sides is consistent,” Mr Glare told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
