His wife wondered if they should stop at the scene, but given the fact that there were other vehicles there, and especially out of concern for their daughter, he opted not to. The mannequin was fully clothed in jeans, boots and a hoodie. It was hanging from the overpass by a rope. At quick glance, and in the dark, it looked very much like a person.
“We do not know the motivation for this incident,” he added. “The mannequin would have likely appeared to be a real person by anyone who would have been passing through the area at the time.”“It looked so real,” he said, and they didn’t find out until the next day that it wasn’t a real person.
