Awareness month campaigns for support, and inclusivity for children with physical disabilities
March is Easter Seals Month, and this year’s awareness campaign is focused on empowering children and youth with physical disabilities, raising awareness about their needs and potential, and building more inclusive communities, the organization said in a news release.
Now 100 years old, Easter Seals provides programs and services aimed at helping children and youth with physical disabilities achieve greater independence. This month, Easter Seals launches various initiatives and activities in Sudbury and digitally to help raise awareness. "The Sudbury community has been a steadfast supporter of Easter Seals Ontario for many years, and we are grateful for their ongoing dedication," said MJ Pappin, Community Development Officer, Easter Seals Sudbury/North Bay. "Each year, we are amazed by the generosity and resourcefulness of our community in their support of March Is Easter Seals Month.
Now in its 76th year, the Provincial Easter Seals Ambassador program provides a platform for kids with physical disabilities to share their journeys and develop the skills to effectively use their voices to advocate for themselves and others. “Show your support by following @EasterSealsON on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, making a donation at MarchIsEasterSealsMonth.org, or registering a fundraising team,” Easter Seals said in a news release.
