After a “crazy year” which saw him plunder a magnificent Ashes hundred, Mitch Marsh says he’s proud to be given the honour of captaining Australia in limited overs cricket.
Mitch Marsh says he’d be open to becoming Australia’s T20 captain on a full-time basis, but just wants to focus on the upcoming white ball tour to South Africa after a “crazy” year which included a return to the Test side and a brilliant Ashes hundred.
Cummins is skipper of Australia’s Test and one-day teams but is recovering from a wrist injury that he sustained in the final Ashes Test.He is expected to be fit in time for Australia’s World Cup campaign, which begins in October. Marsh celebrates with Travis Head after reaching his century on day one of the third Ashes Test at Headingley.After four years out of the Test side, Marsh delivered one of the most memorable innings of the Ashes when he made a run-a-ball 118 during the third Test, coming into bat with Australia on the ropes at 4-85 in their first innings.
