At the time of his death, he was an honorary life member of Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador, recipient of Hockey Canada’s Order of Merit and a Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador Hall of Famer. “He was one of the founding fathers, as we say, and I'm sure he's looking down,” said Williams. “He would dearly love to be up there this week and I can guarantee that.”
