The Island Nature Trust Mother Tree Initiative focuses on securing sponsorship for eight species of native trees in the Wabanaki-Acadian Forest. HandOutCHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The Island Nature Trust is introducing a new project that focuses on securing sponsorship for eight species of native mother trees in the Wabanaki-Acadian Forest.
The mother tree initiative is dedicated to preserving the tree’s seed and the reforestation efforts to come.Money raised by the program will be used to support continued efforts to protect the trees, the environments in which they thrive, and any more impacted forested properties that could benefit from mother tree saplings for recovery.
