Vancouver Island moviegoers are invited to kick off the holiday season while supporting a national non-profit when select Cineplex locations allow patrons to sit back, relax and enjoy movies at no charge next weekend.
, Cineplex is offering a morning of free movies and $2.50 concessions on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., according to the company.
One dollar from every concession order on items like popcorn, soft drinks and candy will be donated to BGC Canada, formerly known as Boys & Girls Club of Canada, Cineplex says. BGC Canada serves over 800 communities from coast to coast, including Victoria and Nanaimo, and is recognized as the country’s largest child and youth-serving organization helping more than 200,000 young people.
“We believe in giving back to our local communities and we are so happy to be able to support BGC Canada and the important work they do to empower our future generations and provide the resources they need to succeed,” said Ellis Jacob, president and CEO of Cineplex, in a news release.Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank
