Filipinos are split on whether they think the worst of the COVID-19 crisis has yet to come or the worst is already behind them, a national survey found.
The Social Weather Stations said 47 percent of Filipinos answered “The worst is yet to come” with the ongoing pandemic. Some 44 percent believe otherwise, saying"The worst is behind us," while eight percent did not answer, its research in May said.
The SWS conducted the interviews from May 4 to 10 through mobile phone and telephone with 4,010 working-age Filipinos - 15 years old and above - 294 of whom were from Metro Manila, 1,645 in Balance Luzon or Luzon outside of Metro Manila, 792 in the Visayas, and 1,279 in Mindanao. Forty seven percent of respondents from ECQ and GCQ places said the worst is yet to come while 45 percent of ECQ and 44 percent of GCQ respondents said the worst is behind them.
