Temperatures in Iran head north of 50 Degrees Celsius, forcing the closures of government offices, banks and schools over the next two days.
Over the past few days, cities and towns in Iran have reached temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius.The metrological office predicted Tehran would get to 39C over the next three days.In 2022, the hottest temperature recorded was in Ahvaz at 53C.
The hottest day in Earth's modern history was July 4, when the average global temperature reached 17.18 degrees Celsius.This comes after a spate of wildfires in Greece last month, over three consecutive heatwaves.The highest registered air temperature on Earth is 56.7 C was recorded on July 10 in 1913, in Death Valley, California.
