The students, aged from seven to 11, started complaining of nausea, abdominal pain and dizziness after getting off their school bus in north Queensland yesterday.

"Every child should have the right to travel freely to and from school without incident and parents should be afforded the peace of mind that their children will be kept safe," Mr Dametto said. "I have also been in contact throughout the day with Queensland Police who have assured me that every effort is being made to investigate the incident and that toxicology reports vital to the investigation will likely be available to officers [on Friday]."
