'I could see the passengers still strapped into their seats - there was a lot of shouting, a lot of noise, a lot of heat and the smell of aviation fuel was really overwhelming.' 9News
A Gold Coast resident who was walking along the shoreline when two choppers crashed into each other earlier this week has shared what happened in the moments after disaster struck.
Sadly, British nationals Ron and Diane Hughes were confirmed dead at the site, while Sydney mother Vanessa Tadros and pilot Ash Jenkinson were also killed. Vanessa Tadros was killed instantly in the helicopter crash, while her son Nicholas, 10, survived but was critically injured. "She was screaming and from my vantage point looking from the back of it - all I could see was raw aviation fuel pouring onto her," he said.
