Former Liberal MP and marathon runner Pat Farmer has completed the Sydney leg of his enormous 14,500 run around Australia to raise awareness and support for the Voice referendum.
Mr Farmer kicked off his journey in Hobart more than three months ago and has since ran 80km per day across different states, meeting with local communities to inform them on what the Indigenous Voice to Parliament is all about.
The former politician was joined by independent MPs Sophie Scamps and Zali Steggall who welcomed Mr Farmer's support for the Voice. "I heard such eloquent words come from them that I couldn't compare to that...but I hoped my footsteps would do their words justice," Mr Farmer said. "I've got a few bruises...few niggles, aches and pains but all in all, I've covered almost 10,000 kilometres," he told Sky News host Peter Stefanovic.
