Uniti Group executive director and ex-Vocus chairman Vaughan Bowen will no longer face insider trading charges after he was discharged in a Melbourne court.
The corporate regulator alleged in September last year that Mr Bowen offloaded about 5.6 million shares in Vocus in 2019 with inside knowledge that private equity firm EQT would withdraw its $3.3 billion takeover tilt for the once-troubled telco.
The matter was being prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions following a referral from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
