Gareth and Nathaniel Train were obsessed with extreme online conspiracies and had turned a $95,000 wooden rural Queensland home into a 'fortified' fortress for what the doomsday preppers had feared was the end of the world.
Gareth and Nathaniel Train killed young constables Matthew Arnold, 26, and Rachel McCrow, 29, who visited their rural Wieambilla property on Monday afternoon for a welfare check on a missing person at the request of New South Wales Police.
Brothers Nathaniel and Gareth Train are responsible for the murders of three innocent lives. A family member has now revealed Gareth had remodified his secluded home into a fortress fearing the end of the world or a confrontation with police. Picture: Nine
A close family member told Daily Mail Australia they believed the renovations were made to move the home off the grid. Gareth had also publicly criticised the state's Special Emergency Response Team who is believed to have subsequently killed the brothers and the wife.
