Several former KFC restaurants in Russia reopened under brand Rostic's on April 25, as local investors fight to bring back the popular fried chicken outlets.
Yum, the US company behind KFC, closed all its 1000 franchise in Russia back in March 2022 to denounce Vladimir Putin's actions in Ukraine. The company last week finalised its exit from Russia, transferring its franchise rights to a local franchisee led by Konstantin Kotov and Andrey Oskolkov.The new owners have told local media they plan to open the 1000 former KFC outlets as part of their restaurant chain Rostic's within five years, 100 KFC outlets will run under the brand Rostics by the end of summer 2023.
