The overarching goal of Women in Pizza is to empower and connect women working within the industry, the founders say.
“And who have interesting pizza journeys and enjoy inspiring others,” she adds.
Through their previous panels, the founders say they’ve found a lot of common ground among women who work as pizzaiolas — or pizza-makers. And they hope that, by having more conversations of this kind, they will help address inequality in the industry, while also encouraging more women to enter — and rise within — the field.Article content
“Support your local woman in pizza’s business,” Mortati says. “Have a conversation with them and ask them to share their story with you, celebrate their success, help them overcome obstacles.“Equal representation will only make the industry better.”
