Liberal MP Garth Hamilton says increasing the minimum sentence in Queensland will have some impact on the youth crime in the state.
“And so that once again, people can feel some confidence … that there are punishments for these crimes that are appropriate,” he told Sky News host Amanda Stoker.
“I don’t want to see more kids in jail or in detention – I just want to see less committing these barbaric crimes.”
