MELAKA: The current hot weather following the monsoon period is driving more people to install air-conditioners in their homes, resulting in brisk sales at electrical appliance shops.

Electrical appliance salesperson Janice Ooh, 37, said air-conditioner sales at her shop had increased 10% to 20% in April due to the hot weather.

Mohd Zamri Hamzah, the manager of an electrical shop in Jalan Perindustrian Bachang Baru here, said the sales of air-conditioners at his store had increased by several per cent this month. "This technology is very good for the environment and suitable for use during the dry season," he said.
