Thousands of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) members gathered peacefully in Cebu City for the 'National Rally for Peace', a show of support for President Marcos Jr. against the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.

The 'National Rally for Peace,' organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo ( INC ) at the South Road Properties (SRP) on Monday, January 13, 2025, proceeded smoothly and peacefully, with thousands of members in attendance. Police Lieutenant Colonel Maria Theresa Macatangay, deputy city director for operations at the Cebu City Police Office, said the INC members from various areas in Central Visayas began arriving at the venue as early as 7 a.m.

Over 200 police personnel were deployed to ensure the safety of the event, supported by force multipliers from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO). By 11 a.m., an estimated 45,000 attendees had gathered, with the number expected to increase into the evening. The INC gathering was a show of support for the pronouncement of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. against the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte. Police noted no significant disruptions during the rally, as INC leaders pledged to monitor and maintain discipline among their members. Traffic congestion at the SRP was among the key concerns, but the Cebu City Police Office implemented measures to manage the situation effectively.
