The Iglesia Ni Cristo National Peace Rally at Quirino Grandstand drew an estimated 1,259,601 crowd attendance as of late Monday morning, according to the Manila Public Information Office .

A series of aerial photos and videos posted on its official Facebook page, courtesy of the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office , showed large groups of INC followers filling up almost every open space at the popular assembly site in the nation’s capital.“Motorists are highly advised to take alternate routes to avoid the heavy traffic flow,” the MPIO said.

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority , traffic is heavy in the Quiapo area due to a number of parked cars, which carried individuals participating in the ongoing activity. Extensive emergency response measures have been implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees. Over 1,300 MMDA personnel were deployed to assist motorists and citizens. No untoward incidents have been reported at the moment.
