“Based on the predicted cloud cover and the limited viewing window, I knew there was only one spot I wanted to be, and that was here,” Soucy said. The celestial light displays were a result of energy particles from the sun colliding with the upper parts of the Earth’s atmosphere. In this case, people who were able to view the displays got to see the most powerful solar storm in more than two decades, according to the U.S.-based National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
