The nine-time Indianapolis 500 starter and 2016 pole position winner has tipped the Team Penske driver to find his way into contention from 12th on the grid.
It's that consistency of results that the IndyCar veteran turned commentator says will put the Australian in good stead.
"So I think Will's experience and maturity having won this race, having two championships, puts him in a great spot."Although the Team Penske entries weren't the quickest across the four-lap average in qualifying, Power did show chart-topping speed in the penultimate practice session. "Only one Penske in the top 12, even though there were eight Chevys. That tells you something, tells you they're missing a little something when it comes to pure pace and you don't win the race on qualifying pace, certainly.
