THE Iloilo City Police Office , under the leadership of Police Colonel Kim P. Legada, has intensified its campaign against the use of the prohibited 'Boga' in anticipation of the upcoming New Year celebration.With five days left before the festivities, the ICPO has confiscated a total of 34 Boga units from various police stations in the city, underscoring the authorities’ commitment to safeguarding the public from illegal noisemakers.
Legada emphasized the ICPO’s call for vigilance: “We urge everyone to celebrate the New Year safely and responsibly by refraining from using illegal items like Boga.” He added that anyone caught using or possessing such devices risks facing legal consequences.To ensure public safety, the ICPO has ramped up patrols in barangays across Iloilo City, coordinated closely with local leaders, and set up additional checkpoints at strategic locations.
